Branding
Settings → Branding. Spec: docs/BRANDING_MODEL.md §3, §4 and §8.
Your colours, your type, your name. Everything an attendee sees is yours; the admin panel stays EntryWick.
What you can change
Colours. Primary, accent, a light and a dark background, and the text colour on each. That is the whole list, and it is deliberate: these are the meanings — "the colour of a button", "the colour of a page" — not a palette. The product works out the rest (hover, the soft fill behind a highlight, the focus ring, the link colour on light and on dark) from what you choose, so a single colour change moves everything together.
Text on primary and text on accent can be left blank. We then pick whichever of white or your dark text is readable on that colour, and re-pick it whenever you change the colour underneath.
Type. Headings and body text, from a list of about 25 fonts plus your reader's own system font. A list rather than a box because every name on it loads in one request with the weights the product uses.
Shape. Corner rounding, button style, whether pages start light or dark, and whether a reader may switch.
Readability is checked, and a bad pair will not save
Four pairs are measured while you choose, against the WCAG contrast ratio:
| Pair | Where it is |
|---|---|
| Primary on light background | Links, outline buttons |
| Text on primary | The words inside a solid button |
| Text on light background | Every word on a light page |
| Text on dark background | Every word on a dark page |
- 4.5:1 or more — good.
- 3:1 to 4.5:1 — large text only. Allowed, with a warning.
- Below 3:1 — not saved, and the message says which pair and what the number was.
This is not a style opinion. Your primary is the colour of every button a registrant will press, on a phone, outdoors, in daylight, and none of your staff will ever see it that way.
What people are told
The name attendees see (yours, or your organization's name), the email sender name, reply-to and support addresses, a support phone number, a help address (Scale and above), a footer, and the name under the scanner icon on a phone's home screen (Growth and above).
The footer accepts basic formatting and links. Anything else is removed when you save it — it ends up on pages and in emails that are not yours to script.
"Powered by EntryWick"
On by default, in every attendee-facing footer. Growth and above can turn it off. If your plan later loses that, the mark comes back the same day — your setting is kept, it is simply not honoured while the plan does not allow it, so nothing has to be redone if you move back up.
Full white-label (Scale and Enterprise)
On Scale there is nothing of EntryWick's anywhere your staff or your attendees look:
- Signing in, resetting a password, accepting an invitation — your logo (or your name in your heading font), your colours and your favicon.
- Error pages — "Page not found", "This page expired", "Something went wrong" — in your brand, with your help link. The maintenance page, shown for a few minutes while the service is updated, names nobody at all.
- The admin panel — your name in the browser tab, your logo in the header, no EntryWick footer.
- Emails — no "Powered by" line, whatever the switch above says, and staff emails (password resets, invitations, "your badges are ready") signed with your name.
- Help — set a Help address under What people are told. Every "Help" link — sign-in page, error pages, the admin's user menu, your pages' footer — goes there. Leave it empty and there is no help link at all.
- Icons — upload an icon. Until you do, your favicon and app icon are a plain square in your primary colour.
If your plan moves below Scale, EntryWick's chrome comes back on the next page view, and your help address is kept for when you move back up. Bills and payment reminders still come from EntryWick.
Where the colours actually go
Everything compiles to one small stylesheet at an address containing its own fingerprint, so browsers cache it forever and a change is always a new address. Emails do not link to it — email clients throw a linked stylesheet away — so the same block is carried inside each message.
Make it yours (the quick version)
Settings → Make it yours is two files and a name, for the person who has just signed up:
- Upload your logo and a square icon. Your colours are read from the icon as soon as you choose it — the mark's own two most-used colours, darkened if they would be unreadable on a white page, so what you are offered is always something you can actually save.
- Change them if they are wrong, then set the name your attendees see and where they write back.
- On Growth and above, add your own web address and copy the two DNS records.
A preview shows the four places your people meet you — the event page, an email, a ticket and the scanner — in light and dark at once, because the question you are really answering is "does this look like us".
The screen stops offering itself once you have uploaded something. Everything it sets, and a good deal more, is on Settings → Branding.
