Mailchimp

Settings → Email lists. Growth plan and above (byo_email). Spec: docs/INTEGRATIONS.md §2–§5.

Everyone who registers arrives in your Mailchimp audience as one member per household, with everyone's names in a merge field and tags you can build segments from.

What syncs

EntryWick Mailchimp
the household's email audience member — the key; an existing member is updated, never duplicated
the person the household is registered under FNAME, LNAME
the contact's phone PHONE
everyone's names merge field EW_PEOPLE
their live tickets EW_TICKETS
the anchor's group EW_GROUP
the anchor's ticket link EW_TICKET_ (merge tags are at most ten characters)
the event, and each day a tag each ("Spring Gala", "Spring Gala — Saturday") — Mailchimp has no lists inside an audience
each person's type tag
checked in on a day tag ew_checked_in:{day code}

Merge fields are created the first time they are used. New members join as subscribed; choose transactional on the card if they should not receive your campaigns.

When: someone registers, is issued a ticket, checks in, or changes their email or phone; nightly for anything missed; and on Sync now.

Bounces come back straight away. EntryWick adds a webhook to your audience when you connect. When Mailchimp "cleans" an address — a hard bounce, or a spam complaint — the contact is marked in EntryWick at once and that person moves to the print track.

Setting it up

  1. Settings → Email lists → Connect Mailchimp.
  2. Sign in to Mailchimp and allow EntryWick.
  3. Contacts go into the account's first audience. If there is none yet, create one in Mailchimp and connect again.
  4. Check the mapping, Save mapping, then Sync now.

Limits

  • Five calls a second per account.
  • One audience: the account's first. Choosing another is not built.
  • Merge values are cut at 255 characters, tags at 100.
  • Retries, the health panel, the owner email on a revoked connection and the 30 days after disconnecting work as for Constant Contact.
